How To Create A Walk Cycle in Flash
IN FLASH
On one layer create shapes for your figure. These shapes resemble
the bones of the human figure involved in the walk movement.
Insert a keyframe on frame 5. Select the foot and calf with the selection tool.
Once selected, choose the transform tool to rotate the leg. Be sure to move
the rotation point to the knee joint.
Go to frame 5 and insert a keyframe.
Insert another keyframe on frame 10. Remember to first select with the
selection tool(V) and then with the transform tool(Q) rotate the arms and
legs to create a lifelike walk cycle. Be sure to place the rotation point at the
joint. You may use your arrow keys to position extremities between moves.
Remember to right click and choose arrange to bring object to the front or
back if necessary.

keyframe at frame
10. Notice that
we are not using
motion tweens.
Once you have completed your walk cycle, go back to scene one.
Move the symbol just off the other side of the stage.
Create a motion tween
Control/Enter to view your animated walk cycle.
