Part of CEO craig R. berretts strategy at intel has been to invest $28 billion
in cutting edge plants and technologies, notwhithstanding the lonest
downturn in the computer chip industrys historis.

His goal is not have intel chips at the heart of products in several new markets
in addition to personal computers and servers. Intel is branching out from
computer chips to remiconductors for a rane of new products, which will in
trun boost intels core personal computer and server business.
Intes primary product- markets are :

PCs and server. The core business, where intel has an 83 percent market
shere of a $ 2 Billion market.
Flat Panel Televition . a $ 10 bilion market where intels processore of
decoding Tv signals could halve the cost of flat- panel screens.
Handhelds. Intels chips power half of all handeld computers in a market
worth $2 billion.
Personal media players. Intel is positioned to become a leading producer o
processor and memory chips in the emerging market for portable video
players.
Wi max. intels new technology should deliver high-speed net access to a
PC within 30 miles of atransmission point.
Cellular phones. Intel currently holds 20 % of a $9 bilion market or
memory chips and diital signal processors.
