How

Alarm/central locking can be deactivated in

hands-free mode:
q Approach vehicle with remote transmitter, grip
driver's door handle: Alarm deactivates and
driver's door unlocks.
q Approach vehicle with remote transmitter, grip
passenger's door handle: Alarm deactivates
and doors unlock.
l Alarm/central locking can be activated in
hands-free mode:
q Switch ignition OFF.
q Ensure doors, trunk and hood are closed.
q Touch sensor on driver's or passenger's door
lock handle to lock the vehicle and activate the
alarm.
NOTE: Alarm/central locking functions can be altered
using digital multifunction display in instrument panel.
l Pressing LOCK button Fig. 129954 once locks all
doors and activates the alarm.
l Pressing UNLOCK button Fig. 129954 once
deactivates alarm and unlocks driver's door only.
l Pressing UNLOCK button Fig. 129954 twice
within 5 seconds unlocks all doors and tailgate.
l Pressing tailgate release button Fig. 129954 for
2 seconds activates tailgate release.
l Pressing 'PANIC' button Fig. 129954 for more
than 2 seconds activates panic alarm.
l Pressing any of the remote transmitter buttons
deactivates panic alarm.
l System will automatically lock all doors when
vehicle is driven above 10 mph (if function
selected).
l If vehicle unlocked and doors or tailgate not
opened within 30 seconds, locks and alarm
system are automatically reactivated.
l There is an emergency key inserted in the remote
transmitter Fig. 129954.

Remote transmitters can only be programmed

using diagnostic equipment.
NOTE: A maximum of 6 remote transmitters can be
programmed.

System operation

System arms after switching ignition OFF.

Switch ignition ON.
Immobilizer warning lamp illuminates for a
few seconds Fig. 22019.
If immobilizer warning lamp illuminates for a
few seconds then flashes rapidly:
q Remote transmitter code not recognized.
q Remove remote transmitter and try again.
