Algebra IIA

This sample from my Algebra IIA class is a project about solving

whether hybrid or gas cars are more economical to purchase. The idea is that
hybrids have a higher starting price than gas cars, but they have lower gas
consumption, which saves money overtime. I was assigned to figure out how
long it would take for the lower gas consumption of the hybrid to
compensate for the higher starting price of the hybrid. I needed to use
equations and graphing to solve this. This taught me valuable information to
use when making future life decisions. I can apply this not only in a
mathematical way, but I learned to think about how I will be affected by
present decisions later on. I did very well on this project; as a result, I got a
perfect score.

AP Calculus
These are two samples from my AP Calculus class. One is the Chapter
Two quiz, and the other is the Chapter Two test. They involved limits, secant
slopes, and tangent slopes. Additionally, the test had continuity and story
problems. Much of this chapter involved new material and methods that I
hadn't ever used previously. However, this quiz and test show how well I
learned these new concepts. I can use this knowledge to further my
education and build up a firmer confidence in my own abilities.
