Generic High School 100 Generic St. Generic City, SC, 29680 Drama 1 — Course Syllabus Course Description: Students will explore the basics of all heater experiences, irtluding playwriting, acting, designing, technical theatre, directing, researching, and viewing theatte history. Course Goals and Objectives: © Students will identify various time periods in theatre history. © Students will make Greek theatre masks. © Students will design a floor plan for a play. © Students will design costumes for a play. # Students will design make-up for a play. © Students will use.the lighting and sound board for a play. © Students will participate in improvisational acting exercises. © Students will perform in group and individual pantomime scenes. © Students will participate and perform in scenes with stage’ combat. © Students will perform contrasting nionologues. © Students will write and perform puppet shows. © Students will design and make puppets. © Students will perform a full production of an originally written show. Every tardy after that will result in a referral ‘You must sit in your assigned seat. Otherwise, I cannot take attendance properly and have to mark you absent, Using the bathroom is a necessity, but you must be mindful'of how it may affect the procedure of class activities. Ask me to use the restroom only at APPROPRIATE times (ie. during independent éxercises, and not during class discussions). No food, gum, or drinks (other than water) are allowed in class. Technology is a good aid for learning and communicating, but must be used, appropriately. Technology devices including but not limited to cell phones, iPods, iPads, and laptops that are used in class without permission will be confiscated for the day and can result in a referral, Class Procedures: Most of the class will be-spent working on projects. However, there will be occasional quizzes, tests, and homework assignments Notes should be taken in class discussions. Students are required to participate EVERY DAY in class activities.
