Question One
Use Marcel Marceaus The Tango Dancer as your example, list down 3 characteristics of a good
mime performance. (30%)
1. Good movements - Good movements to describe a story can make the performance more
interesting and fun to watch. In the The Tango Dancer, Marcel Marceaus movements were
very nice and professional.
2. Good story/plot - Making an interesting performance with a good story is one of the key
factors to having a good performance. You need a good story/plot in order to capture the
audiences attention and make them think about how the performance goes. The Tango
Dancer is has a good story/plot where the audience laughs at his movements and the story is
an interesting one.
3. Good facial expressions - Good facial expressions will help to enhance and further assist the
performers performance. In The Tango Dancer, Marcel Marceau had good facial
expressions to assist his movements to make it feel more dramatic and real.

Question Two
Do you think you had staged a good mime performance in your solo piece entitled What a Day?
Identify areas for improvement for your own performance. (50%)
I think I didnt do a very good performance but in my standards would consider it not too bad. I
think I could improve on my story/plot and facial expressions. My story was not very good and
clear to the audience as I noticed that the audience had a little difficulty in understanding what
some areas of the stage were meant to be in my performance and also what I was doing as my
movements were not very synchronised with the story/plot I had originally planned to stick with
throughout my performance.

Question Three
In your opinion, who is the best mime performer in your class? Write about the content of his/her
performance, and why you think he/she has presented the solo mime performance, and why you
think he/she has presented the solo performance effectively. (20%)
I think the best performer in our class was Min Ho because his story and movements were quite
good and his facial expressions were good. He seemed comfortable and relaxed.
