The "Okie from Muskogee" is coming back to town.

Country western singer Merle Haggard returns to Tulsa on Oct. 9 to play a rescheduled
show at The Joint inside Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa. Haggard postponed his
originally scheduled concert in April due to Pneumonia.
Haggards career has spanned half a century, making him a music icon. He has released
76 studio albums and nearly 100 singles, 38 of those were No. 1 singles. Some of those
singles include "Cherokee Maiden," "Mama Tried," "Old Man from the Mountain," and a
song most Oklahomans know very well, "Okie from Muskogee."
Reviews of this tour have mentioned Haggard nailed it coming out with "I think I'll Just
Stay Here and Drink" as the first song. He has also been praised for still touring at the age
of 77.
We are looking forward to Merles return to Tulsa, said Danny Finnerty, entertainment
director for Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa. We are excited our guests are getting their
chance to enjoy the country legends performance.
Travis Noland, Cherokee Nation Businesses communications manager, stated the show is
officially sold out and all additional seats have been released.
Tickets to the April 3 show will be honored at the Oct.9 show. Doors open at 7 p.m. and
show begins at 8 p.m.
