The appliance in your possession is a high quality instrument


which will give you years of reliable service if used properly. If
the Magna Scope head is not attached to the holder, this and
the accessories are to be fitted.

1. Pin Contact: Undo locking screw on the top section of the


battery holder until the screw is no longer visible in the inset
opening. Insert otoscope head or accessory into the opening as
far as it will go with the depression in the top section (alignment
point) in the direction of the locking screw. Retighten screw.
See Fig. 1.

2. Rheostat: This appliance is ready for use once the batteries have
been inserted. Chargeable handles must be charged from the
mains beforehand. See Fig. 2.
IMPORTANT- Note Voltage:
The light intensity can be regulated by pressing in and moving
the red rheostat slide.
3. Specula: The three types of specula have a hole in the rear metal
attachment to ensure that the instruments lock securely on the
otoscope head. Insert speculum and turn clockwise until it
locks. See Figs. 3, 3a.

4. Blower Connection: An integrated blower connection is to be


found on the removable black ocular for attachment of the air
hose. See Fig. 4.
5. Magnifying Glass: The hinged magnifying glass can be pushed to
the side if required. The magnifying glass not removable. See
Fig. 5.
6. Bulb Replacement: Carefully remove specula from MagnaScope
and unscrew defective bulb from threaded socket and replace with
a new bulb. See Fig. 6.
