JOB DESCRIPTION DIRECTOR OF ATHLETICS

Manage all aspects of the Canterbury School athletics program

Handle all scheduling, communication with parents, transportation, officials,
uniform distribution and collection
Manage athletics calendar on website and team Haiku web pages
Add new programs and teams as student interest arises under the schools no-cut policy
Oversee student eligibility during each academic term
Hire and manage coaches of the Schools 18-20 teams annually
Oversee Middle-School summer sports camps
Manage the programs $25,000 annual budget
Manage sports, including soccer, basketball, lacrosse, cross country, swimming, tennis,
golf, volleyball
Participate as a member of the Leadership and Calendar teams
Teach third and fourth grade physical education classes
Teach fifth and sixth grade gender based health and physical education classes
Assist eighth grade Venture Out leadership classes on the high ropes course
Lead and assist various afterschool Venture Out offerings

Summer Camp
Set objectives and vision for the program on an annual basis
Manage the programs budget
Hire and manage teachers and outside vendors used to staff programs
Write and issue contracts to all staff and vendors who run sessions
Advertise and promote the program to the Greensboro community
Compile course ideas and create brochure documents annually
Collect course registrations, money, and feedback from camp registrants
