Remove posterior teeth6-8 wks

3. Primary study cast to fabricate custom
impression tray covering edentulous area.

Capture vestibule depth with green


stick compound.

Wash impression with Coe-Flex.

7.

Mark posterior extension of palate.

Alginate pick-up impression of custom


tray with Coe-flex wash in mouth.

Box and pour in yellow stone.

fabricate record base with rim

Mount casts on articulator; set
teeth

finish setting teeth; festoon;
process; laboratory remount;
prepare clinical remount casts;
soak 24 hours; finish & polish

Try-in

custom tray, apply adhesive to


borders.
Border mold edges with heavy body VPS
impression material.
Trim excess.

Apply

adhesive to the intaglio surface of


the custom tray and borders.
Apply light body VPS impression material
evenly on intaglio surface and border (23mm thick).
Press into cast to capture impression.

Mark

posterior palatal seal on impression.


Remove handle from impression tray.
Replace impression on cast.
Place small pieces of blue rope wax in
posterior portion of maxillary plastic tray.
Try maxillary plastic tray for fit.

Make

pick-up impression with alginate


using the plastic tray.
Remove handle from the plastic tray.
Box in alginate so that the final cast will
have a land area 2-3mm high and 2-3mm
wide.

Pour

cast in yellow stone.


After setting, wet cast and trim to ideal
dimensions:
10-15mm thicknes of base
2-3mm land area width and height
