Counseling 12
Professor Fisher
CSU Long Beach
I chose Long Beach for my CSU mainly because I never really considered
finishing my college career at one, but now that I have realized how much a private
school will cost me, I had to change my decision. I know you, Professor Fisher, are
always speaking highly of this school so I decided to take a look at it! Turns out that
I really like the idea of attending this university. Their mission statement was
perfect:
California State University Long Beach is a diverse, student-centered, globally-engaged public

university committed to providing highly-valued undergraduate and graduate educational

opportunities through superior teaching, research, creative activity and service for the people of
California and the world.

This sounds like everything I am looking for in a school. Ive never visited Long
Beach so I would definitely have to go visit the city before making any final
decisions. This school seems to be diverse and it looks like there are plenty of things
to do around town.
For admissions, it says that I must transfer at the junior level and complete
60 or more transferrable semester units. All classes must also be completed with a
grade of C or higher. There are many reuirments to be met and that means that I
really need to focus and get things done in an efficient and timely manner.
There are many choices for schools, but that doesnt mean that I have the
option to attend any one that Id like, and thats what makes me very nervous. Either
way, Im determined to get a degree and get my career started!
