3. Strengths to continue to build on:
Great start with the student poll of rushing, forgetting something, missed
a part of a movie
Book walk through Skim & scan vs reading for details.
Great introduction of lesson students read the objective
Modeling thinking for students
Great text to text connection Sassy-Sistine
Stop, think and discuss/jot - 21st century skill
Questions like:
How does that make you feel?
What do you think?
Give me specific details
Why is author giving us so many details?
Much better classroom management- calling on students to refocus
Highlighting exemplar examples of student responses.
Lesson structure was clear: mini-lesson guided practice and independent
practice.

Making sure that students are using the objective in all the lesson
components.
Restating instructions before students went off independently!

4. Suggestions for future lessons:

Brake down the categories to narrow student responses (emotions, body
language) especially if question is ambiguous. what words could
author use?
Dont tell always ask, let the students tell.
Give ample time for students to jot down their thoughts before discussing.
Watch out for transition time: its a time that valuable instruction time
could be wasted.

Best lesson so far! I think youll make a great teacher! Classroom management comes
with time.
