Intro: The education system in New Jersey is at it again.
More and more students are starting to
lose faith in their schooling because they are not benefiting from the classes at hand. Some students see extra curricular activities as one of the only things keeping them in schools. While looking at the classes some students need to take in order to graduate, whether it is middle school, high school, or college, some of them are lacking, and can be replaced by classes that will end up benefiting their future instead of their board of education. Robert Sweeney, an eighth grade middle school student is not satisfied with any of his classes. Cue In: Im not learning anything in my math classes. Cue Out: Id rather be learning about how to change the world. On the contrary, some parents, such as Sandra Holly think that the math programs will help their children out in the future. Cue In: When our kids are in school, their job is to obtain a rounded education, which means math, english, science, and history, as well as a few others. These classes will help children out by boosting their critical thinking skills so when they get to college, they will not struggle. Cue Out: Outro: There are many opinions flying around concerning the issue, however the entire school curriculum is decided by the board of education, and not the teachers or parents. Many students continue to drop out of school every year due to the dissatisfactory of their classes. Making a change to teaching students things they can constructively use in their lives may definitely have a large impact on the New Jersey student body.
