Multimodal Project
For my multimodal project I designed a word art using the website tagxedo. I designed
my multimodal project off of our sponsors of literacy project. For the words I used my Sponsors
of Literacy paper. For the picture I used a dollar sign because the theme of my essay was, The
Wealth Behind Literacy. I chose make the words in various shades to represent the color of
money and also because many people associate the color green to creativity.
Originally I was going to make a pinterest board for my project but then I decided that I
could not organize my information like I wanted to. In order to fix this problem, I chose to do
something more abstract that takes no organization. I also like how the tagxedo allows me to
make certain words bigger and bolder to point out the key terms. For example, in my paper, the
concepts of literacy, wealth, society, reading, writing, and culture were all really important so
those appear larger in my picture.
I believe my multimodal image uses pathos or emotion to draw the viewer in. Much of
my multimodal project relates to a persons emotions or how they feel when they look at the
image. The words, the color, and the layout can influence how someone interoperates the image
or concept. The image could also relate to logos because the words, color, and layout all relate to
each other and have the common theme of wealth and literacy.
