Tasheanna worked as a7" grade Art substitute for the past 2 months here at Albion Middle School. Due to the strike in our district, her placement in the building shifted to various positions in the first few ‘weeks. Once we were able to finalize our substitution roster, we found that Tasheanna was a good fit for the Art classes. When we were finally able to permanently put Tasheanna in the Art classes, she did an excellent job. Due to the nature of Art classes, there is a lot of freedom for students to talk and move about the room. ‘Tasheanna did not allow these to hinder her ability to teach the class, She continued to allow these freedoms, but in moderation. | was pleasantly surprised on a number of occasions when I observed her classroom at how she had the students working on their projects with minimal conversation and movement, In speaking with students, they gave her high marks on how she organized the class and kept students conversations to a minimum. ‘Tasheanna used her creative background to introduce new projects and assignments for the students. Her ability to explain and teach the new assignments kept behavioral disturbances to a minimum. Ifelt ‘confident enough in her to approach Tasheanna with an assignment that would benefit the school in the future, lasked her to hold a student competition to create the design for the cover of the next school years planner. She was more than happy to take on the project. | am sure that ifthe strike had not been settled when it did, she would have had the students create a great cover for the schools planner. ‘have no doubt that Tasheanna will continue to be a good educator. | highly recommend Tasheanna for whatever position she is applying for at your school.
