Backgroundresearch:
Thesystemisfundedprimarilybypropertytax.Thegeographicalareaswiththemostvaluable
propertyaretheareaswiththemostfundedschools.Inotherwords,themoreaffluentthe
neighborhood,thehigherqualityofeducationthestudentsinthatareareceive.Toimprovethis
issue,itshouldbemandatedthateverystudentintheunitedstatesreceivethesameamountof
fundingyearly.Theperpupilfundingshouldbeequalinalldistrictsofallstates.
Constructahypothesis:
AnefforttoimprovetheUnitedStatespubliceducationfundingsystemwouldbemosteffective
byusingamandatethatrequiresallstatestoprovidetheirstudentsthesameamountoffunding

ThemeaningthatcanbeinterpretedfromtheresearchontheinequalitiesintheUnitedStates
publiceducationsystemisthattheinequalitiesareprimarilyaresultofthefundingpracticeof
usinglocalpropertytaxtofundlocaleducationinstitutions.Thisfundingmethodcreates
inequalitybydefault.Someneighborhoodswillbemoreaffluentthanothers,leavingthe
studentsinthelesseconomicallyadvantagedneighborhoodsatadistinctdisadvantage.
