Course # PSYC 1101 Introduction to Psychology 3 credits Instructor: Mark Lundgren Text: Psychology, David Meyers Ninth Edition (Worth Publishing, New York, New York 2009 OUTCOMES: Knowledge The student will learn and come in contact with the importance and impact of the social influences in shaping human behavior through the family, social institutions and other influential groups. Skills: Scientific approach of observation, perception, understanding, predicting and controlling human behavior. Research and experimental methodology through the experience of surveys and a research project. Attitudes: The student should be able to observe, comprehend the importance of the science of Psychology and how the Social Influences shape ones behaviors. Grades will be based on a total point system, with the
above percentage used to determine grade. Grade will be based on: tests & quizzes, group activities, individual projects, papers, Abstracts, (9/9, 9/23, 10/7, 10/21, 11/4, 11/18) attendance and participation in class, Portfolio, Notebook.
All test must be taken on time or made up before. This is
a college course and you dont miss test! Assignments which are late, will be docked 10% per school day. If you are going to be gone, the assignment is due before you leave. Paper on video projects: due date based on presentation drawing Topics to be covered. Unit I
