Dear Ms. Velasquez:
I am writing to express my interest in the tutoring position available with CAMP. I had the pleasure
of meeting Mr. Gabriel Pastor, a current tutor for your program at California State University,
Sacramento. He suggested I apply for the tutor position.
I am a freshman majoring in Business Administration at California State University, Sacramento. My
concentration is in International Business.
Through my previous employment at Hamilton Elementary School as a tutor I have gained
experience in effective ways to help the person I am tutoring. I have experience tutoring in math and
English. I know that each person learns differently therefore I have learned to be patient. From my
employment at the Human Services Agency I have gained experience of working at a fast pace if
necessary, and I have gained knowledge on how to treat different people based on their personality.
I am amazed at what CAMP has to offer its students from advising, a family environment, to
tutoring. I would very much like the opportunity to be part of this great support chain for many
CAMP students to come.
