October 12th 290 B.C. ~ My name is Tatius Equitius and I am 32 years old today, what a
year it has been serving my role as a Praetor. The work of being a part of the great Rome
Republic is a rewarding experience like this year we have fought a long war against these savage
beasts known as the Samnites. The war had lasted for 50 years and recently we took control and
ended the war we allowed them citizenship but didnt allow them the right to vote. My duties as
Praetor are chief law officer and judge I am the understudy of the Consul if they cannot fulfill
their duties I take over either if it be short or replacement. I was an elected magistrates which
essentially means I was elected amongst the people instead of being a general elected to the
position.
Others in society are treated well in Rome as long as they are Roman the purest blood
you can be, we came descendants of Troy by Aeneas who founded our bloodline, as well as
Romulus and Remus forming our great city. Rome is the greatest city in the land and others our
gracious we present them with such gratitude, even giving some civilizations the honor of voting
in our elections. There is a group of people who always seem to stick around, the Etruscans.
These people are complete savages undermining all of our work, they came here from a distant
land is what I have been told and settled here like it was their own. Rome is all this land is and
shall be, some people believe that we are alike and should join forces. But I know better they will
just double cross us and infiltrate our capital with their evil ways if we let them. The only way to
stop them is to eliminate their culture and destroy what they believe then it will be Rome that is
the grandest city of them all.
This city is all I have ever known and I believe in the hard work we do as a Republic. My
heart and soul represents Sentus Populusque Rmnus, we are the senate and people of Rome
without what our government stands for we would just be savages killing each other for food.
