Members,
I'm so excited to see the Challenge quilts tonight. Being members of a guild is
all about the friendship of sharing our experiences and ideas with other
quilters. Guilds are about having resources for expanding and improving our skill
set. When choosing the annual challenge for the guild members, we tried to ask
the members to stretch themselves and do something outside their comfort level.
This is not about making the best quilt you have ever made, but about taking a
challenge to try something you have never done before. I hope you had the opportunity to learn something new when you chose to undertake this project. I
further challenge you to continue to try to do new and different projects. If you
always do pieced quilt tops, then it's time to do some appliqu work, and if you
always send your quilts out to be finished, it's time to try it yourself!! Try working
in a new color palette, do a different border, try scalloped edges on your next
quilt. You are all artists, and the only limitations to your talent are the ones you
give yourself.
Keep Quilting!
