Colgates biggest draw for me is the amount of flexibility in education.

In my search
for colleges I was dedicated to finding a school that thought as big as I did and would
allow me to study all of things that interest me and most importantly look at each
topic from multiple angles. On my first visit to Colgate I fell in love not only with the
campus but also with the idea that everyone at the school was genuinely devoted to
their education and went there because they really wanted to learn, not just obtain a
degree. I love the first year system where everyone takes the same main courses but
in a variety of subjects, and how I imagine it allows for students to really take their
learning outside of the classroom and form a community based around both our
similarities and differences. It is this diversity in the learning process that inspired
me to apply to Colgate.
