My Educational Manifesto
INTRODUCTION
Education is, and always has been, and always will be, my main focus. I would not be the person
I am today without education. I would also not be where I am today without my education.
Education in America today should be the top priority, but I know it is not. It needs to be the top
priority because we are getting passed up by many other countries and it is somewhat becoming
national security. I am not impressed with the education I have gotten, but I am also not
disappointed with the education I have gotten. My parents did the best they could and got me
into good schools, but they were not the top schools in the country, and they were not the worst
either. The thing that has been missing in my education is the fact that a lot of teachers are only
in it for the money and not for the students, so the teachers did not care as much as they should
have. The thing that has been praiseworthy is that some teachers have actually gotten me excited
about certain things, when the teachers care it makes the students care. My vision for the rest of
my college experience is that I can get through without any problems and graduate with my
doctorate. My vision for future generations is that teachers start to care more and get more
students excited. I am going to explain my view on education, the importance of an education,
the different parts of the educational process, the people involved and their roles, finding the

Smith 2

motivation and the dedication, discovering the ultimate goal, and reaching the ultimate goal.
Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world (Nelson
Mandela).
MY VIEW ON EDUCATION
My view on education is that it is the most important thing in the world. The reason I say this is
because the more knowledge you have the more power you have. If you are not very educated or
not educated at all then who is going to listen you? Who is going to believe what you are saying?
An education is important for so many things, for example; meeting new people, jobs/careers,
succeeding, and everything you want for your future (if you want to travel, you have to have a
good education to get a good job to get paid well enough for you to travel). Everything is
surrounded by education, or based off of education. In todays world you cannot do much
without an education. Gaining knowledge is always power.
EDUCATIONS IMPORTANCE
Education should be a means to empower children and adults alike to become active
participants in the transformation of their societies. Learning should also focus on the values,
attitudes and behaviors which enable individuals to learn to live together (UNESCO). If you
want a good life, and if you want to be successful in the future, you have to get an education.
DIFFERENT PARTS OF THE EDUCATIONAL PROCESS
There are many different levels of education. The first part of the educational process is the
home life. This is where children begin to learn how to talk and broaden their vocabulary. They
also start to learn what is right and what is wrong in the home environment. After beginning the

Smith 3

educational process at home, most children go to some type of daycare. Daycare is extremely
important because that is where children start to learn how to get along with others; they start to
learn their alphabet and numbers as well. After daycare kids go to preschool. In preschool, pre-k
and kinder garden they keep expanding their vocabulary and then learn to spell the words they
are saying. Elementary school is next in the educational process. In elementary school they start
making friendships and start learning more about different subjects such as; history, science,
math and music. Then there is middle school. Middle school is where you start to care, children
start to care what they look like, how they smell, and their hormones start to kick in (some hit
puberty in this stage). After middle school comes high school. High school is very important to
some people (it was not very important to me), high school is where you begin to find yourself.
You start exploring with different sports, makeup, boyfriends, and girlfriends, just to see what
you like. Lastly, there is college. College is where you really find who you are and get to study
what you want to study and learn about different things you are actually interested in. In college
you can get many different levels of degrees; associates, bachelors, masters, or doctorate. These
are all the different levels of the educational process, but it does not stop at college. Gaining
knowledge should be a process that continues throughout your life.
PEOPLE INVOLVED IN EDUCATION
There are many people involved with the educational process. The people involved are; the
student them-selves, their parents, siblings (if they have any), family members, teachers, friends
and even role models (actors, artists, authors). All of these people have a very important part in
the educational process.
EVERYONES ROLE IN EDUCATION

Smith 4

Now I am going describe everyones role. The student is the one that has to put in all the work
and their education should be most important to them. The parents are one hundred percent
responsible for teaching their children from the very beginning; they are the ones that reinforce
good or bad things in a positive or negative way. The parents are extremely important, without
good parenting the child will not succeed as easy or as much as children with good parents.
Parents will always be their children's first and most important teachers, and can have
tremendous impact on their children's school readiness, motivation to learn, and study skills, as
well as on high school graduation rates and college preparedness (U.S. Department of
Education). Siblings and family members are also important because they help socialize the
child, socializing the child helps them be healthier, have healthier relationships, and are less shy
and more open. Teachers do not know how big their role is. Teachers role is not just to teach the
kids, it is also to get them excited about what they are learning so they are enthusiastic about
learning. Friends are also important because they are known for what is called peer pressure.
This is more common in the higher education (middle school and up), whatever friends that child
has is going to impact how their education goes. If their friends like school, they will like school,
but if their friends hate school they are going to hate school as well. Lastly, role models are
important as well, which is sad and somewhat scary. When kids see their favorite actor or actress
doing stupid things they will think that is okay because a famous person is doing it. Everyone
involved in the environment of a child or student has some effect on them, whether it is a big
effect or small effect it still affects them, hopefully in a positive way and not a negative way.
FINDING THE MOTIVATION AND DEDICATION
Motivation and dedication is a very important part in getting a good education. Without
motivation and dedication you will just want to quit or will end up quitting. The way you find

Smith 5

your motivation is, you find what you are interested in, whether it is money for good grades,
paying for your own school (college), or even having to get good grades for a sport. Finding that
motivation and dedication is extremely important, and could be the difference between minimum
wage or becoming a billionaire. Find what you are interested in and use that as motivation.
DISCOVERING THE ULTIMATE GOAL
To determine your ultimate goal you have to know who you are. You have to know what kinds
of things interest you and what you want to do for the rest of your life. After you figure that out
you will have your ultimate goal and you will work harder to achieve that reachable goal.
REACHING YOUR ULTIMATE GOAL
In order to achieve your ultimate goal you have to set smaller goals along the way. For example;
this semester I am going to get all As, or for this one class I am going to do all of my weekly
quizzes before Wednesday every week even though they are not due until Sunday night. When
you are close enough to your ultimate goal then put all of your focus on that. Once you have
reached your goal and are in the career you want to be in for the rest of your life, DO NO STOP
LEARNING!! You have to keep gaining knowledge in order to keep succeeding in your field.
CONCLUSION
I went over my view on education, the importance of an education, the different parts of the
educational process, the people involved and their roles, finding the motivation and the
dedication, discovering the ultimate goal, and reaching the ultimate goal. If I have not gotten my
point across, education is everything! I will leave you with this quote by Albert Einstein, the
important thing is not to stop questioning (Learning Revolution).
