Role-Play —Group Presentation
This assignment was designed to support teachers as well as develop
skills in sharing data in a way that is respectful, supportive and
empathetic. When working with children there are times we must
share wonderful information and there are times we must share painful
information with the parents. How can you do this as a future teacher
without jeopardizing your relationship with the child, parent and
family? There is a very real chance you will have to tackle such a
problem in your work as a teacher and even in your own life.
This assignment will also allow you to utilize the knowledge you have
gained during the semester. In your role-play, you will:
(1 State true concerns regarding the child’s development.
O You will create a letter to the parent inviting them to meet with
you, being careful of the tone you use, language and
sensitiveness of the issue.
You will utilize notes from your thirty hours of observation to
pinpoint or support your allegations.
] Devise an [EP/IFSP to share with the parent
CO Develop a one-week lesson plan that will focus on areas needing
support. For example, Fine motor enhancement activities.

Your actual role-play typed written,
A copy of your IEP/IFSP,
Notes used to support concerns discussed with parent and
A one week lesson plan focusing on the ability/disability/special need
