To the appropr
fe authority:
11am pleased to write this letter of recommendation for Shannon Fleming. I have known Shannen for four years. She
‘was originally in my freshman Introduction to Literature class, but since then has been in Sociology, Speech, and Senior
Literature with me.
Shannon is a truly interesting thinker. She is a quiet girl who is very connected with her family, and as such, people
might assume that she isa “typical” teenager. Her love of knowledge and her rare desire to learn for the sake of
‘growing as a person make her anything but average. She has an exceptional mind, Often, Shannon’s questions in class
jump forward to the next topic of inquiry that we will be studying. Her mind is quick, and she makes connections
rapidly, often juxtaposing large, thematic epiphanies with detailed understanding of the nuances of a text. | can count
on her to ask difficult but important questions in class, as well as to make challenging and unique contributions to
discussions.
While Shannon's academics may speak for themselves, her character is evidenced in her empathy. She is quick to put
herself in another's shoes, and this ability serves her well in literary analysis, of course, but also in life. Shannon, though
an introverted person herself, will always share a smile and have a kind word for a peer in need.
Shannon is ready to embrace the world. She is eager to learn and to grow, both academically and personally. Her love
of knowledge is almost palpable. As such, am confident that she will succeed, and | recommend her without
qualification. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
Sincerely,
J, kit Wg?
