Technical terms and definitions related to life after high school:

Student loan - Designed to help students pay for university tuition, books, and living expenses. It may be different
from other types of loans in that the interest rate may be considerably lower and the repayment schedule may be
postponed while the student is still in school.
Financial Aid - Any grant or scholarship, loan, or paid employment offered to help a student meet their college
expenses. This aid is usually provided by a variety of sources such as federal and state agencies, colleges, high
schools, foundations, and corporations.
Scholarship - A grant or payment made to support a student's education, awarded because of academic or other
achievement.
Tuition - A sum of money charged for teaching or lessons by a school, college, or university.
Insurance An arrangement in which a company or government agency provides a guarantee of reimbursement
for specified loss, damage, illness, or death in return for payment of a premium.
Technical terms and definitions related to students chosen career (Wildlife Biologist/Technician):
Ecosystem - A biological community of interacting organisms and their physical environment.
Habitat - The natural home or environment of an animal, plant, or other organism.
Endangered species - A species of animal or plant that is seriously at risk of extinction.
Population - A summation of all the organisms of the same group or species, which live in the same geographical
area, and have the capability of interbreeding.
Data - Facts and statistics collected together for reference or analysis.
