Declaration of Support of Urban Poor Federation ( Bitoon Relocation Site) of the City For the lloilo Convention Center and the Hosting of the City of Iloilo of the 2015 APEC Ministerial Summit ‘The Urban Poor Federation of the City of Iloilo declares its support for the Iloilo Convention Center project and the hosting of our city of the 2015 The marginalized sector of our country has long been suffering, their prayers and pleas for help unanswered by what used to be an apathetic and unresponsive government. Through the efforts of our Ilonggo leaders in the national government, most notably lloilo City’s Franklin M, Drilon, the Honorable President of the Philippine Senate, the national government has now turned its attention to the needs of the poor in lloilo City. Great economic progress in cities throughout the world have been achieved and sustained economic policy and the construction of sufficient infrastructure to meet the demands of the growing citizenries of the metropolitan centers of the world. In Iloilo City, the Convention Center and of numerous other projects have increased the confidence of our members on the ability of our city and of our cal leaders to uplift our lives. The improvement of our economic conditions is mutually dependent with that of the development of Iloilo City. We could not improve our financial condition if tloilo City will stagnate, Accordingly, lloilo City could not become a premier city if we, the poor, would not be granted the opportunity to improve our social standing and living conditions. The hosting of the APEC Ministerial Summit and the construction of the lloilo Convention Center are signs tional and local governments are fully committed to enhancing the economiconditions of lloilo City and of all of its sons and daughters. We therefore declare our support for the lloilo APEC Minister B. BORCE President Bitoon New Site uummit and for the lloilo Convention Center.
