Question Set
1) The Calcium reacted more fast with the water, and with the HCl both reacted at the
same time.
2) The beryllium doesn't react with water, but with HCl reacted the same like Ca.
3) The reactivity increase as you move down the column of alkaline earth metals.
4) Barium will be more reactivity that strontium.

Conclusion

- The strontium is considering highly reactivity as react with air and is even more
reactivity with water, with which it reacts on
contact to produce strontium hydroxide and hydrogen gas. It burns in air to produce both
strontium oxide and strontium nitride. So
because is extremely reactive with oxygen and water, this element occurs naturally only
in compounds with other elements. In
another hand the barium is high reactivity too but is even more like the others.

- The radium is the heaviest know alkaline earth metal in the periodic table so its high
reactivity too, so we can
say that with water
can react violent and with the hydrochloric acid even more. With this is in water react
violently producing

hydroxide.

- Handle a small piece of radium can be dangerous because it has the potential to
cause great harm by
replacing calcium in bones. Exposure to radium can cause cancer and other disorders,
because radium and its
decay product radon emit alpha particles upon their decay, which kill and mutate cells.

- The group VII reactivity decreases as the atomic number increases and this is
opposite at group IA because in this group the
reactivity increase as the atomic number decreases because the electronegativity and
because the group VIIA are nonmetals.

- We should to have learn this from the experiment regarding trends of the periodic table
because this show us why increase and
decrease when he go down as the periodic table and what effect have in each one and
we should know this because for
precautions and know what experiment will show and take precautions.
