Fallacy Rhetorical Analysis

Station 6s Coke commercial, illustrated the logical fallacy of False Cause, in order to
make an exemplary situation of what Coke can do for its intended audience. In the commercial,
the main focus is on an elderly man who is in a nursing home, and once he is offered a coke he is
able to do the inevitable. This is a fallacy because all the things the old man was doing, is
impossible to do and falsely acclaimed. This fallacy is not really effective because nobody in
their right mind is going to do all the crazy things the elderly man did, all because of one can
Coke. On the other hand, it is clear that Coke knows how to advertise their brand. Even though
their use of the fallacy was not all that effective, the commercial was helpful because it was very
memorable. So therefore, the rhetorical mode used is pathos, because the audience looks at the
commercial as being humorous and simple, and when they sip a can of Cole they are able to
remember the commercial that promoted that product
