Business Etiquette

Executives should wear a suit. While Swiss usually speak English, it is

good to say a few words in the language of the host. When you visit a
company is essential to bring your business card. Office hours: Monday
to Friday from 08.00 to 12.00 and from 14.00 to 17.00.

Conferences and Congresses

In addition to its central location on the continent, neutrality and
stability have made Switzerland one of the most important centers of
conferences, congresses and meetings. The country has a
comprehensive network of facilities of all types, from large convention
centers in Zurich, Geneva and Basel to small mountain hotels that
provide a more intimate and relaxed atmosphere and offer all kinds of
facilities and audiovisual services interpretation. Each city has its own
Swiss Convention Bureau, while the Swiss Association of Convention
Centers oversees these events around the country. The Association is
composed of 19 major centers.

The Swiss is cautious and decisive, take all the precautions in the world,
always has been and culture will not change from night to morning.

Like good entrepreneurs who are spending time in negotiations with

the Swiss haggling you never want to make money. And they are very
inclined to save rather than consume less happily splurge. So you know,
the Swiss is a tough negotiator but very serious.

They use a low-context communication: the sober, straightforward

information is valued, without ambiguity or subtlety. It requires a very
precise and concise language. It is very consistent with the Teutonic
intellectual style: pure logic and arguments by sequential exposure of
the ideas expressed in a language rich in details and emotionally
neutral.
