Antiglycemic activity of Whole Fruit Vinegar (WFV) prepared from Syzygium

cumini (Linn.) skeels fruit

Abstract
The present study was aimed to evaluate the antiglycemic activity of pureWhole Fruit Vinegar
(WFV) prepared from Syzygium cumini (Linn.) Skeels fruit by Traditional Slow-Fermentation (TSF)
method. Two groups of ten (n=1O) cumini (Linn.) diabtic patients each with mild to moderate
degree of hypoglycemia were randomly selected. The experimental group was treated for 45 days
with WFV of Syzygium cumini (Test group) while the control group was treated with a Colored
Placebo Drink (CPD). Post-Parandial Blood glucose levels were evaluated even/ 15 days.It was found
that Vinegar prepared from whole fruit of Syzygium cumini (Linn.)Skeels exhibits a significant
antiglycemic activity on the type-2diabetic patients as compared with placebo group.
