What a beautiful fall weekend! I hope
everyone took some much deserved
time to enjoy the weekend. Ervin was
out of town in Atlanta, so I spent the
weekend with my family in Vanceboro
and at the State Fair!

went undefeated this season.

PIE Bowl this Saturday!


This weekend is the PIE Bowl! Join us at Strike Zone at 11:00. This year we
have 4 teams and will using the team name All About that PIE (a parody of
the song All About that Bass)! (I felt that eBOWLa would be a sensitive name
at this time).
Even if you cant stay the entire time, come on by and help us win the team
spirit award or just to have a great laugh!

Upcoming Webinars and Workshops
PowerTeacher Gradebook Workshop - There is one more opportunity to attend this workshop held
at NCDPI in Raleigh Monday, Nov. 3. The workshop covers basic PowerSchool and PowerTeacher
functionality such as taking attendance, creating assignments, entering assignment grades, working
with categories/groups, printing reports, final grade setup/weights and more. The workshop runs
from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. each day. Register here:

Free Masters Degree through UNCG


Are you a licensed elementary education teacher with the commitment and
desire to teach students with disabilities, including those with moderate and
severe disabilities, in least restrictive environments? If so, we have an opportunity for you!!
Project TLC is a federally funded masters program in special education with an emphasis in adapted
curriculum.
TLC Scholars receive:
Full tuition and fees for a masters degree
Full tuition for teacher leadership training through the Dale Carnegie Institute
$8,000 annual stipend to offset other expenses (e.g., parking, conference travel, textbooks)
TLC Scholars commit to the following:
Serving students with moderate and severe disabilities in LRE
2.5 years of part-time graduate studies, beginning either January 2015, or
July 2017 (10 scholars will be selected for each start date)
Course delivery will include different delivery formats (e.g., online, face-to-face, and blended
formats) throughout the program
Required summer class attendance
Required one Saturday per month for Dale Carnegie Institute Leadership activities
