In the book Brave New World by Aldous Huxley, people are restricted from
freedom. Soma is used as a vacation that will help hallucinate, dream, and escape from
reality. Soma compares to an object used in the Native American tribes. Its legend says
that it captures horrifying dreams in the circular cobweb before letting it get into a
persons mind. The good dreams dive directly through the center hole of the object then it
flows down to the dangling feathers then leads directly to the person who is sleeping
below. When the sun rises the captured bad dreams are drifted away into nothingness and
forbidden from ever coming back and attack a humans mind. In my life when I wanted
to have a break from stress I like to listen to relaxing music. I lay back and listen to the
wonderful melodies that play and it automatically will trigger peace in me. I can finally
just lay back and fall asleep and later dream of wonderful images that bring happiness.
When I wake up I feel ready to deal with things that come my way.
