About Me
Footprints on the sand of time are not made by sitting down (Unknown). This quote has
always impacted me greatly. My life and successes have not been easy, I have had to work for where I
am today. Being accepted into Saginaw Valley State University under direct admission status into the
nursing program and also receiving a half-tuition scholarship was not easy but I did it. I have the work
ethic, the organizational skills, and the goal-oriented mindset from many factors that have influenced
my life.
My family has made a large impact in my life. My grandmother, mother, and father especially
shaped the way I am today. My grandmother is my hero. She was the strongest woman I have ever had
the pleasure of knowing. Her independency and saint-like personality is something I always wish to be
able to be. My mother follows in her footsteps greatly. She has the same independency that I am happy
to realize I have also gained. My father has faced many difficulties in his life, yet always has a joke to tell
and a smile on his face. I always hope to someday have that same bubbly demeanor every day.
The profession I chose to study is nursing. I have many goals with my nursing career. A shorthand goal is for me to be able to accept my seat in the program in fall of 2016. I hope to graduate with
my bachelors of science in nursing and obtain a job in the pediatric ICU unit in a hospital. I plan to keep
this job for a couple years then continue my education to obtain my masters either as a nurse
practitioner or a nurse anesthetist. I have always known I wanted to be in the medical field. It was not
until my sophomore year I realized I wanted to be a nurse. I have always been interested in the hospital
and wanted to visit every patients room out of curiosity of what is wrong with them. I also am caring. I

care about the well-being of my family and friends. My goal as a nurse one day to make one of my
patients smile or laugh each and every day.
Success is not accomplished by yourself. The people and journeys one faces is what creates who
they are. My family has helped create who I am today. With their support and care, I know I can obtain
any goal I set my mind to.
