Superlatives Adjectives

We use the SUPERLATIVES of adjectives when we


compare ONE person, animal or thing with several of
the same kind.
Examples:

Josue is the shortest of the family.


She is the happiest girl of my class.
This is the most expensive car.
He is the best student of the school.

RULES!
ONE SYLLABLE ADJECTIVE :

BIG = THE BIGGEST


COLD = THE COLDEST
NICE = THE NICEST

ONE SYLLABLE ENDING VOWEL AND ONE CONSONANT


DOUBLE CONSONANT BEFORE EST : HOT = THE HOTTEST
ENDING IN CONSONANT + Y :

PRETTY = THE PRETTIEST

MORE THAN 3 SYLLABLES AND SOME 2:


EXPENSIVE = THE MOST EXPENSIVE

EXCEPTIONS : GOOD = THE BEST


BAD = THE WORST
MANY/MUCH = THE MOST
