Daybook Entry 8: Pop Culture Literacy

What is popular culture in your opinion?

Overrated media news, and awareness of certain topics based on how celebrities view
them.
I believe that my generation lack the capabilities to think for themselves and instead they
rely on others to tell them what to believe. We are the generation that have so much to
accomplish, they want to accomplish, but they dont want to work towards
accomplishments.
Pop culture is killing diversity because everyone is liking the same thing, and society as a
whole shun anything that is different. Uniqueness no longer exist because of pop culture
because children are no longer appreciating their cultures and instead they focus on what
Justin Bieber act likes.

Reflection
I have chosen this entry because I thought it was entertaining to hear what my classmates
have to say regarding what they believe to be popular culture. I believe that my generation is the
dumbest generation because we are constantly relying on social medias to give us information,
and most of the time these informations are false. Thankfully, most of my classmates have real
influential people in their lives instead of iconic figures. The book sections that I picked out
mostly influence my literacy skills because those books required me to think in depth.
