Dear Hiring Professionals,
I am writing in response to your job posting for Social Media Intern. I am a Communications student at
James Madison University where I am looking for an internship where I can be of value to my employer
while improving my Public Relations and Communications skills. I have professional experience in social
media and after seeing your job posting I believe I would make a good fit for this position.
At my public affairs internship at The Society for Human Resource Development I received experience in
using social media as a tool to create and strength relationships between an organization and a public. I
have the knowledge to document the impact of social media for an organization and also develop social
media initiatives that create more impact and interaction on the platforms. I have a background in
graphic design, specifically InDesign and I won a class award for my project on a logo. My previous
experience at a fast-paced work culture has made me a quick-learner and efficient multi-tasker which
are necessary in the changing world of public relations.
Some specific accomplishments include:

Increasing interaction on SHRMs We Know Next Facebook page that has over 8,000 likes.
Researching, developing, and executing popular TwitterChats for SHRM that created a
relationship between social media followers and the organization.
Tweeted daily to over 8,000 followers on SHRMs We Know Next Twitter account through social
media resources such as HootSuite and TweetDeck.

Thank you for considering my resume. I look forward to hearing from you, If you have any questions
please contact me at 571-220-0439 or feeleycq@dukes.jmu.edu

Sincerely,
Caylor Feeley
