We believe that peace is a vay to end violence and injustices. It is achieved through Non-violence aproach. As young generation, our hopes and aspiration to meet genuine peace is our leaders. AB . A Our leaders are considered as repositories of our Indigenous knowledge, values / stem and practices. They are the source of our wisdom and knowledge to live peacefully, have meaningful life and serve as our mentors, books and models. { \ ‘The killing of our respected leaders is killing of our culture. Losing our leaders 2 8 a big threat to our future as young generation of today. If this situation will continue in our society, what will happen to our future, culture and wisdom? Kanduli for peace is our peaceful way to condemn this barbaric situation experienced by our leaders. We strongly believe that the killings of our { \respected leaders are closely related to our assertions to protect and preserve uur ancestral domain. Additionally, our belief is that ancestral domain is a - | sacred gift by the creator, so that staining it with blood is liyen or prohibited ) and signals bad omen. Thus, the kanduli is a sarator to dispel the bad omen., = The kanduli is a form of sympathy of the Téduray youth to the victims of ~ killing. We hope as young generation of today, we will take the lead in ‘| demanding for justice and urge the authorities to hasten the investigation to , achieved genuine justice for the victims. > In this kanduli, we will use Télata. Télata is a Téduray term which has two different meaning. It is a term used by the member of the family to pronounce that their love ones have passed away or is resting in peace. Another meaning refers to a broken bamboo into strip used by the tribe to light our way and suide us when we walk in the dark. The culture of impunity that shrouds us as ‘our leaders get killed for standing up for our rights have cast us in darkness.
