Origin of Hip Hop
Thesis: Over the course of 30 years, Hip Hop has had a major
impact on the American culture, from when it originated in 1980, till
now 2014
Three main points
1.) Difference between hip hop from the 80s to the 90s which is
considered to be the golden age, and the impact is has had on the
American society.
A.) Hip hop started in south Bronx, by DJ Kool Herc, at a block
party
B.) The influence started to move to Brooklyn and Manhattan.
C.) Later on in the 90s hip hop started to change, Which was
considered to be hip hops golden age.
D.) Hip hop got taken to a new place, new artists and new styles of
rapping, with new concepts emerged

2.) The difference in American culture now that the golden age has
came till the early 2000s.
A.) Hip hop has spread from New york to the west coast, of
California.
B.) Video girls were a big thing. New trends were created and
added to the music and American culture
C.) Hip hop has also had a influence on Hollywood.

3.) 30 years later, the affects on hip hop and present day
America
A.) After the Golden age, Hip hop still continues to be more
diverse. The south plays a major role in hip hop
B.) A dance from a started in Harlem New York has been a
huge influence on the hip hop culture, which resulted to others
going to different boroughs to battle each other, to people
putting on shows on NYC subways
C.) Present day hip hop has also a lot of negatives to it. To
some it can be called the reason why there is a lot of violence,
because some feel hip hop promotes it.
