Reflection
My first semester as an actual college student was needless to say a nerve racking and,
yet fulfilling moment in my life. From passing test to actually failing a couple tests or essays that
I thought I had done very well on. Class wise my classes went well none of them really
challenging besides my English 102 class all based upon the fact that I knew what Dr.
Witherspoon wanted, but I could never figure out how to put it into my essays. There was
teaching, but nothing really new. It was the same thing that we should all know how to do even
though it had been so long since the last time we had to write certain types of essays.
Now overall the class was kind of boring all, because I was like one of the only students
that engaged with Dr. Witherspoon whenever he asked a question. While at the same time I was
also the one that connected the rest of the class to what Dr. Witherspoon was even speaking of.
So I felt as if I was one of the people, which were needed in order for the class to function
properly. I even taught Dr. Witherspoon how to fix the so called problem that occurred
whenever he came in and the smart board was not working properly. So not only did I learn stuff
about essays and overall functions of writing I, also taught him something that he didnt know
how to do.
So, yes English 102 was very aggravating but in the long run Ive learned to elements
that all of my papers need or lack, such as grammatical errors, punctuality, and sentence
structure. Ive been told for many years that I have had errors in all of these areas, but now I

finally had a teacher tell me how to fix it and explained it. This being said even when I never
made above an 80 on any of my essays that I submitted and even revised. I would still have to
say though that Ive learned basic things about writing that I had forgotten throughout high
school and lower education.
