1. AIM:
Review treble, bass, note values, dynamic markings, and music symbols.
2. OBJECTIVES:
The students will be able to identify basic musical aspects using the game of baseball,
with 75% accuracy.
3. CONTENT:
Using the game of baseball to help students understand the basic elements of music.
4. MATERIALS:
Flash cards with notes/symbols, tape, bases, score card
5. PROCEDURE:
Divide into 2 teams- offensive & defensive
Set up baseball diamond
Teacher gives a flashcard (starting pitch) to 2 players
First correct answer counts
Outs and strikes like regular baseball
6. ASSESSMENT:
Winning team gets 5 bonus points. If the students trys and participate, they get an A. If
they do not participate or try they get an F.
7. STANDARDS:
5. Reading and notating music.
7. Evaluating music and music performances.
8. NEXT LESSON:
Test the students on what they have learned in this review game.
