Dear Mr. Taylor,
I am writing in regards to whether LSU Athletics and LSU Baseball would be willing to partner with my Mass
Communication 4001 class and campus organizations Fresh Campus and Smoking Words to host a tailgate on March
19 for Kick Butts Day before the LSU vs. South Alabama game. We would like permission to set up a tailgate in the
parking lot of Alex Box to hold this event and to pass out literature, food and promotional items to those that stop
by the tailgate.

This event is a national initiative by the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids to spread awareness about Tobacco use and
encourage a smoke-free and tobacco-free lifestyle. It would also raise awareness about Act 211, which mandates
that public post secondary education institutions shall develop smoke-free policies for its campuses (both indoor and
outdoor) by Aug. 1, 2014. Through this tailgate wed be able to spread the word about these campus organizations
and initiatives, and help bring awareness to the LSU Athletics Healthy Tiger initiative.
