Rough Timeline: 20-30 minutes

JAYSON, 47, rises quickly in his bed, the room pitch black. Jayson breathes intensely.
STACY, 39, turns on a bedside lamp. She turns around reaching her hands out to assist
Jayson in his struggle. Jayson turns to the edge of the bed, Stacy sits on her knees moving
closer to him. Jayson sits on the side of the bed, leaning over. His hands press against his
forehead. Jayson continues breathing intensely.
MEGHAN, 26, sits in an office fidgeting with her fingers. JAYSON, 47, comes in
congratulating Ms. Porter (Meghan) on the good news; she got the position. Meghan smiles
warmly as she shakes Jaysons hand. She walks out the door. Meghan leaves the building, a
smug look is painted across her face.
Jayson enters his modern upper-class home, tossing his briefcase on the couch and picking up
his playing daughter, DANIELLEA, 11 months. He swirls her around in the air. Jaysons
wife, STACY, 39, stands in the kitchen cutting up dinner ingredients. Jayson walks over to
Stacy, planting a soft, warm kiss on her smiling face. Meghan sits in a car outside the home,
gritting her teeth as she intakes the familys delightful embraces.
FLASHBACK LILLY, 6, sits in the waiting room of the Emergency Room. DR. Bradford
and Nurse Susan stand across the room from Lilly, discussing the high likelihood of her
mother ABIGAIL, 25, passing away. Lilly sits alone. Her eyes focus on her fidgeting fingers.
Susan walks over to Lilly and leans down speaking to Lilly in a soft voice. She tells Lilly
shes going to see her Mommy. Susan takes Lillys hand into her own, guiding Lilly into the
hospital room. Lilly looks up at Abigail, tubes sticking into her mouth and nose. Lilly
whimpers out for Abigail, asking when they would go home. Susan stands next to Lilly,
about to explain Abigails situation. Machines beep rapidly. Susan moves Lilly to the side,
checking on Abigail. Dr. Bradford rushes into the room and takes over. Susan takes Lilly out
of the hospital room as Lilly continuously looks back towards Abigail; Abigail has passed.
END FLASHBACK
Meghan snaps back into reality as a car passes her, honking its horn in annoyance to
Meghans side-road parking. Meghan takes one more look into Jaysons familys home.
Meghan takes off.
Meghan steps out of the car, breathing in the cool air. She pulls a sold sign out of the
ground, throwing it into the garbage can.
Meghan pulls a large sheet off the couch. She sets a box on the couch, pulling out photos and
newspaper articles. She pins them on the wall. Meghan unfolds a crumpled letter. She pins
the letter in the middle of the wall. Meghan pours a glass of red wine. She sits on the sofa
staring at the shrine. Meghan falls into a deep sleep.
FLASHBACK The house is dim with the only light coming from the crack of a door. Inside
the room, Abigail throws a suitcase out of the closet, stuffing clothes inside. Lilly begins to
whine waking up from the sound of her mothers activity. Abigail rushes over to Lilly,
shushing Lilly not to be afraid. A door slams. Jayson, 26, screams for Abigails appearance.
Abigail breathes deeply with no reply, rushing to hide the open suitcase. Jayson barges into
the bedroom as Abigail sits next to Lilly. Jayson grabs Abigail and shoves her into the wall.
Lilly screams tucking her legs against her chest, covering her ears. Abigail cries out in pain as
she slides to the floor. Jayson hits her, punch after punch. He kicks Abigails head; Abigail
passes out. END FLASHBACK
Meghan crosses the street, noticing an OLD MAN in raggedy clothing asking for spare
change. She meets the Old Mans eyes. She begins digging into her bag. Meghan pulls out

her hand, empty, no sign of remorse. The Old Man looks towards the sky with a questionable
look.
Meghan turns the corner walking to her office cube. She sits at her desk. Meghan searches
through files and paper work, all connecting to Jaysons life. Hours pass by. Meghan heads to
the break room to heat up her lunch. Jayson walks by in the hall. Jayson greets Stacy who
brought his own lunch to him. Jayson hugs Stacy and they passionately kiss one another.
Meghan continues warming up her food, slowly pressing the microwave buttons. Meghan
looks up and stares at Jayson and Stacy. The two detach from each others embrace and part
ways. Meghan tosses her heated food in the garbage. She quickly gathers her purse and keys
from her cubicle. Meghan leaves the building staring at a past photo of Jayson and Stacy in a
restaurant, Jayson proposing.
Meghan sits at a large computer desk in her home. The screen lights up her face. Meghan
clicks Create profile, setting up a fake account for Beckah. She uploads multiple seductive
photos of the same woman, into the fake account. She uses Photoshop to add a random photo
of a man and woman on the street with Beckah and Jaysons features taking their place.
From the corner of Jaysons home Meghan watches Stacy take Daniella out of the car. Stacy
walks up the sidewalk with Daniella in her arms. The two walk in, the front door closes
behind them. Meghan walks across the yard making her way into the street.
Stacy begins to sweep Jaysons study. She knocks into Jaysons keyboard reaching under his
desk. The computer screen lights up. Stacy sees the photo of Jayson and Beckah. Stacy
quickly sits in Jaysons chair staring at the photo. She flips through the seductive photos.
Stacy stops looking.
Stacy throws a diaper bag and duffle bag into the car. Jayson locks his car doors and walks up
the driveway. Stacy puts Daniella in the car and buckles in her car seat. Jayson asks where
the two are going as he smiles, trying to give Stacy a kiss. Stacy claims she wont have her
daughter apart of this and tells Jayson theyre leaving. Jayson looks confused grabbing the
car door as Stacy attempted to slam it shut. Stacy coldly tells Jayson about seeing his mistress
on his computer. Stacy pulls the door away from Jaysons grip. Jayson runs after Stacy,
yelling her name as she speeds off.
Meghan watches everything through her living room window. Jayson kicks the curb and
leans over, his heart beating fast. Falling to his knees, Jayson tries to catch his breath.
FLASHBACK Jayson screams over and over in the driveway, shouting in Abigails face.
Lilly sits inside the car, watching from the backseat. Jayson hits the car with his fist. Jayson
screams for Abigail to get Lilly out of the car. Abigail states the two are leaving. Jayson slaps
Abigail in the face. Lilly covers her eyes, peaking through the cracks of her fingers. Abigail
pulls Lilly from the backseat. They head into the house. END FLASHBACK
Meghan tilts her head in curiosity as Jayson coughs, his head shaking back and forth. Jayson
wobbles into his house. Lilly closes the blinds as he disappears.
In the house, Jayson pours a glass of scotch. A second and a third as well. Jayson slowly
shuffles into his study. The photo of Beckah is still on his computer screen. Confusion fills
Jaysons face, then anger. Jayson shoves the computer to the floor, wiping everything off his
desk. Jayson calls Stacys phone, no answer. He goes to pour another glass of scotch. The
bottle is empty. Jayson tosses the glass onto the floor. He puts the bottle on his desk. Jayson
slides down the side of his desk. He lands on the floor, a mess is around him. Jayson notices a
photo lying beside him, he picks it up. The picture is of a mother holding her baby. Through

Jaysons POV (drunk) it looks to be Stacy and Daniella. It becomes clear to him its the photo
of Abigail and Lilly; the day Lilly was born. Jayson turns the photo around, tears streaming
down his face reading Lillian Daniella Peterson, 1987.
Stacy wipes her face with a damp rag, looking into the mirror. Daniella lies on a small bed in
the middle of a hotel room. Meghan watches Stacy through the small window in the
bathroom; the night cold. Stacy cries, throwing the cloth against the mirror. Stacy gets into
the bed close to Daniella, pulling the covers against them tightly. Stacy cries herself to sleep.
Meghan, waiting outside, picks the door open quietly. Meghan walks slowly but confidently
into the room, Daniella and Stacy sound asleep. Meghan digs through Daniellas diaper bag,
pulling out a full bottle of baby milk. She pours white powder into the bottle.
Meghan runs along the sidewalk. She stops running, watching a couple and their child play at
the park. She stares at the family, a repulsive look on her face. Meghan shakes her head and
begins running again only to stop once more as she notices Jaysons car in front of a church
building. She stops, taking out an earbud. Meghan looks at the open church doors. She walks
into the building. The Old Man sits on the curb across the street watching Meghan. He looks
up to the sky, points his finger and smiles.
Inside, Jayson kneels on a wooden floor. Meghan stares at Jayson in anger. She walks with
rage to confront him. The Old Man grabs Meghans shoulder, whispering in her ear. Meghan
jumps, startled. Jayson now lifts his arms in the air yelling out. Meghan releases her shoulder
from the Old Mans grip. She takes one more look at Jayson. Meghan leaves the church.
Daniellas continuous whining frustrates Stacy. She puts an almost empty bottle into
Daniellas mouth. Daniella finishes the bottle. Her whining rings in the room. Daniellas
crying slowly stops, turning into a whimper. Her eyes roll back and the whimpering stops.
Stacy eyes are narrowed in confusion, noticing something is wrong. Stacy bounces Daniella
calling out her name in a panic.
Jayson shows up at the hospital, yelling out for his daughter. Stacy comes around the corner
and the two embrace each other; Stacy cries. She leads Jayson to Daniella. They are blocked
from their daughter by a glass window. Jayson hits the glass, calling for his baby girl.
Meghan listens around the corner, showing little sympathy.
Jayson and Stacy sit in the waiting room for information from the doctor. Stacy has fallen
asleep. Jayson gets up. He walks to the glass window looking at Daniella.
Meghan watches Jayson break down. (Jaysons POV) Jayson talks to God looking up at the
ceiling. He is crying. He apologizes about his past, what kind of man he was, asking God to
save his baby girl. Jayson looks at Daniella, tubes sticking out of her nose. Jayson presses his
hand against the glass. Jayson is in tears. He breathes deeply. The glass fogs up.
FLASHBACK Abigail is lying on the floor crying, pleading to Jayson. Stacy is in the kitchen
preparing dinner. Lilly covers her ears in bed. Daniella plays with toys on the floor. END
FLASHBACK
Jayson looks down towards the hospital floor. He whispers Lilly. Meghan watches Jayson
stare through the window, tears coming down her face. Jayson collapses to the floor. Susan
notices the fall. She yells out for assistance and others rush to help. The Old Man shows up
behind Meghan. Meghan jumps looking back at him, frantic by the commotion. The Old Man
tells Meghan that our past will kill us if we dont escape it. Meghan asks how she can escape,
for Jayson killed her mother. The man replies, if we do not forgive it will overwhelm and ruin

our hearts. Meghan turns around to face the man. She looks around in confusion. The man is
gone.
Meghan stands in front of the shrine, looking at all the photos. Overwhelmed with the
mixture of emotions, tears flow down Meghans face. Meghan rips through the shrine,
removing every photo from the wall. She picks up Jaysons letter and stuffs it into her back
pocket.
Meghan pulls a garbage can up to the side of the house. Throwing a box full of research into
a fire pit, a picture bounces to the ground. Meghan picks up the photo (Lilly and Abigail)
noticing a second photo (Jayson and Abigails wedding day) behind. Meghan is in tears. She
places the photo in her back pocket. She begins burning everything. Meghan stares at the
flames coming from the can, smoke rising in the dim sky. Meghan walks away as the fire
grows behind her.
Stacy is smiling by Jaysons side. Jayson sits in his hospital bed smiling back, holding
Daniella.
Meghan presses her hand on the glass outside of the room, tears beginning to drip down her
face. She holds a file by her hip. The Old Man stands beside Meghan. Meghan, startled, looks
up at him wiping the tears from her face. Meghan asks the Old Man who he is and why he
had been following her. The man continues to look at Jaysons beautiful family. He speaks to
Meghan, though not to answer her question. Meghan looks away from the Old Man, down at
the file in her hand and back towards him. The Old Man grabs Meghans hands and looks
into her eyes, Meghan looks back into his own. Tears begin to fill Meghans eyes as she pulls
her hands away from the Old Mans grip. She looks back at Jayson and his family. Jayson
kisses Daniella on her head. He does the same to Stacy. Meghan looks around for the old
man; hes gone. Meghan looks down at the file by her side, gripping it tightly. (SLOW
MOTION) Meghan walks to the door. Standing still she hesitates to turn the knob. Meghan
gives a soft knock on the door. She twists the knob slowly.
Jayson notices Meghan. Confused but smiling, Jayson asks if theres anything he can help her
with. Meghan slowly steps towards the family, her eyes puffy and face red. Stacy looks
concerned. Jayson notices the file in her hand. Jayson states business can clearly wait.
Meghan nods her head saying she understands. Jayson passes Daniella off to Stacy. Meghan
passes the file towards Jayson. Jayson stares at Meghan tears begin to form in her eyes.
FLASHBACK Abigail quickly walks Lilly into the house. Lilly looks back at Jayson in fear.
Jayson stands in the driveway starring into Lillys teary eyes. END FLABACK
Jaysons mouth drops open. He shakes his head in disbelief. Meghan holds the file in the air.
Jayson takes the file. Inside Jayson looks at its content. A photo of Lilly in Child Protective
Services sits on top. Jayson coldly asks where Meghan had gotten the file from. Stacy asks
what it is. Jayson doesnt reply. She watches the two, standing still on the side of Jaysons
bed with Daniella in her arms. Meghan pulls the letter and photo out of her back pocket.
Jayson looks at the photo, shocked. He rubs his finger against the photo. He reads the letter.
Jayson looks up at Meghan. Tears drip down his disgusted face. Jayson looks down at
everything, shaking his head.
Stacy is crying as she bounces Daniella. Jayson looks back at Meghan, his face red and eyes
filled with tears. Jayson gets out of the hospital bed, pulling the wires off of his body. Stacy
begs Jayson to stay still. Jayson holds out his arm looking up at Meghan. Meghan watches
Jayson stiffly move across the room. Meghan stands still, her arms tightly by her sides.

Jayson gets closer to Meghan, his legs begin to give out. Stacy begins to beg again but Jayson
demands seeing his daughter. Stacy looks up at Meghan, wiping a tear form her cheek.
Jayson manages to stand up straight. Jayson and Meghan stare into each others eyes. The
two embrace each other at the same time. Tears drip down Jaysons face as he hugs Meghan
tighter.
The Old Man watches from the window. He smiles brightly. He looks up shaking his finger at
the ceiling.
Jayson holds Meghan in his arms. Stacy smiles at the two, tears coming down her face,
bouncing Daniella. Meghan stares at the wall. A tear drops down her cheek. Meghan
whispers daddy.
