Existence of Supernatural Beings

Nowadays there are so many conspiracies theories on multiple subjects, but the one that
really stands out to me is the existence of supernatural beings. In western culture it might be
considered absurd, but personal experiences prove otherwise.
When I visited overseas (Pakistan) in the mid 2000s I witnessed most of the population talk
about the supernatural like it was a daily occurrence. People would tell their children that if they
stay out too late at night they would be victimized and an example would be made out of them.
The role the unknown plays differs between America and Asia. Here in America it is considered
a thrill to some. We have horror movies, haunted houses, and Halloween. If we look overseas
people legitimately believe something bad will happen to them if they mess with the
supernatural. Stories are passed down from parents to children about incidents they witnessed or
their relatives claim to have witnessed. Graveyards, bathrooms, and forest are all places that the
supernatural are believed to reside. Most people overseas tend to avoid these places in general,
or spend the least amount of time there as possible. Randy Pausch states Experience is what
you get when you didn't get what you wanted. And experience is often the most valuable thing

you have to offer(Randy Pausch). Videos can be fake and stories can be made up, but
Once someone has experienced something then they will truly believe in it.
The phenomenon is blatantly clear; you just have to ask the right questions. For example,
why do animals randomly make noises in the middle of the night? Or why do we, on occasion,
feel a shiver down our spines? Is schizophrenia an actual disorder, or do some people actually
have the ability to witness the supernatural? Our closed mindedness could be due to the fact that
people are too blinded by technology in this fast paced world to pay attention to whats
happening around them. Child upbringing is also a possibility in this matter. Whatever the case
may be; people need to open their minds to the idea that we are not alone.
In society today, we just brush off incidents that cannot be explained. We have been
wired to do so ever since we were little. We were told about Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, The
Tooth Fairy, and some of us have even had friends that were not real. People associate the
supernatural along those lines, but the fact of the matter is that some of us cannot help it.
A dimension is a level of existence or consciousness (Merriam Webster dictionary).
According to scientist we live in the fourth dimension and its hypothesized that there could be
more. Supernatural beings could be located in a different dimension intersecting ours, which
explains why we cannot see them; this also explains the theory of extraterrestrial life.

Whether it be by daily life or dreams, it is entirely possible for individuals to be in

contact with the supernatural. If we take a look at the origin of the top 2 world religions we can

see that they all have a common variable, the supernatural. Deuteronomy 18:9-13 states, When
you come into the land that the Lord your God is giving you, you shall not learn to follow the
abominable practices of those nations. There shall not be found among you anyone who burns
his son or his daughter as an offering, anyone who practices divination or tells fortunes or
interprets omens, or a sorcerer or a charmer or a medium or a necromancer or one who inquires
of the dead, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord. And because of these
abominations the Lord your God is driving them out before you. You shall be blameless before
the Lord your God(The Bible). In addition to that the Quran also has a verses in Surat Al-Jinn
stating And there were men from mankind who sought refuge in men from the jinn, so they
[only] increased them in burden (The Quran). These are the 2 major religions and both contain
evidence of something we cannot completely comprehend. Most people of monotheistic religion
can relate to beliefs about Angels, devils, and Jinn (supernatural beings with free will in Islam)
so it is not all that uncommon.
The supernatural can seem sinister or scary to some, but the facts do not lie. If most
monotheistic top world religions exemplify it, and in some instances people claim to have
witnessed it then we need to evaluate it.
