Subject: User Test Report.

We are writing in regards to our users test, we distributed our shark identification key to a
variety of people to see what there feedback was on it. The test went well for us, we were able
to obtain valuable feedback from our peers. These were the results from our testing.
Each group member tested either roommates or family members, each using the same key and
in the same manor. We printed off pictures of the ten sharks we identified, and using our
identification key, had our users identify the sharks to see how effective our key was. We then
asked them if there was anything that they would improve on, or would make the manual
easier to read.
Even though our users were able to successfully identify the sharks from our key, they did find
some flaws. First, they found that the table of contents was redundant, because it had the
same pictures on it as the informational pages. Next, they found that the pages in our key need
to be numbered in order to have a successful table of contents. They also believed that the 11 x
17 was too big, and we should stick with the standard 8 x 11. Another issue found was that
our descriptions were hard to read because they were hidden by the other pages in the
booklet. Along with that there was some minor spelling and grammar errors that need to be
addressed. Some also believed that we needed to bold certain information to make it easier to
see while identifying sharks.
After completing our user test and some self-revision, we found a few things that could be
changed on our Identification Key. We first added page numbers to the key, and took pictures
out of the table of contents to make it easier to comprehend. Another step we took to make
the key easier to use was changing the page size from 11x17 to 8 x11. This way the pages
were easier to turn, making the information easier to find. After this, we centered the
description of the sharks on the page, and fixed any minor spelling or grammar mistakes. Finally
we bolded important words and phrases in the description section to put emphasis on them.
