Drilling Instructions
Important: For the safety and security of your property, do not release this information to unauthorized
employees.
In rare cases, an inoperable lock may need to be drilled to open the door. Prior to drilling, every attempt
should be made to unlock the lock using Master keycards, an external power supply, and the utility device
as directed in the service manual. If the lock still does not open, follow these steps to drill the housing.
1. Mark the housing next to the lever (see Fig. 1).
2. Using a 3/8-diameter drill bit, drill a hole through the rose cover and steel insert (approximately
1/8 deep) to expose the locking bar.
Important: Do not drill too deep.
3. Using a small flat blade screwdriver or pick, slide the locking bar toward the edge of the door
(see Fig. 2). Hold the locking bar in this position.
4. With the locking bar in position, turn the lever to open the door.
Drill a 3/8 hole
next to the lever
bearing.
