Research Proposal
For my explanatory essay, I want to explore the underrepresentation of minorities in
popular movies and television. All my prior knowledge comes from watching television shows
and movies. Its obvious that there is a lack of minorities in movies and even when there are
minorities, theyre often used for comic relief instead of actual characters. I want to learn how if
affects the people watching. I want my audience to learn about something theyre all exposed to,
but may not be realizing.
