* Teacher will ask to see a vote of who is for genetically modified foods and who is against.
Teacher Notes:
* Although teacher will check for understanding by monitoring all groups, extra help will be
needed to support students. who read the less-challenging article.
* Refer students to text to answer questions. Give hints about which paragraph they should
re-read to find the answer.
* To provide more structure when teacher is working with other groups possibly choose the
highest achieving in the group or a volunteer to serve as the “manager” to read the questions
and call on group members to share their thoughts.
* Encaurage students to explain more than just the questions when explaining their article.
They seem to think talking for 2 minutes about a 1-2 page article is a too much.
