1. Why do we observe and assess young children?
Assessment is the process where teacher collect information about a childs ability.
Teacher looks at childs skill level, interests, strengths and weakness. Knowing the
development of a child help the teacher to plan curriculum, to set up activities for
individuals, or to ask for a special help when necessary.

4. If you had one thing you would change about the child you observed what
would it be?
I would change his attention span. There were many opportunities that were giving
but my child didnt want to participate. Also for my child to be more social, there
were many activity other children engaged. Another thing is my child needed more
one-on-one teaching.

5. If you had an opportunity to create an activity that has yet to be developed, but
will enhance all the developmental domains, what would that activity be? Put a
Name to the activity and the benefits.
Water Table Learn
If the daycare could have a water table this will help my child to have learning
opportunities. He can learn about colors if we dyed the water a different color so he
can learn his color. Also we can add different kind of items that have shapes in the
water and he can play with them. Filling up the water table with foamy water and
dropping in some letter for him to learn his letters.
6. What curriculum was used in the center/home care or CPS school in which
you observed?
They use Creative Curriculum most of the time.
