Gees passage on identity described a deeper understanding of the different characteristics of identities.

Out of the 4 ways to view identity, I believe I see myself mostly portrayed through the view of an
institution. Most specifically, this refers to my identity as a College of Engineering Student at UNCC. With
this title, I am forced to the tasks that go with it. Other students recognize me as their peers and vice
versa. Adults and faculty view me as a more mature individual than a high school teenager, but still with
much to learn. It is most clearly recognized based on the activities I do and the clothes I wear.
Depending on their certain institution identity, their response to me could be negative or positive. Id be
more scrutinized or put under a microscope if I was looked at by a higher up or employer.
