How old were you when you began your undergraduate career?

I started attending classes at CPCC at age 23 and started UNCC as a junior at age 25
What made you decide to start school or go back to school?
I was worked in several restaurants as a server for a few years and while I made
good money, it was also a lot of work and became exhausting. I also hated the long
hours I worked. I started thinking more about the future instead of the present and I
wanted to be successful instead of being in the same exact situation five years from
now. I wanted to live up to my potential and working in a restaurant was not going
to help me with that. So I decided to go back to school and study accounting
Do you think that you felt more motivated to do well academically at an older
age as opposed to starting college at age 18?
Of course I felt more motivated. During high school, I wasnt exactly interested in
academics so after graduation, I took a break from school for a few years. I worked
as a server during those years and while it was alright as a single person, I knew this
type of work would be more difficult in the future, like if I had a family or something.
Did you feel connected to the university at all (participated in campus
activities, involved in any organizations)?
I was involved in a couple of student organizations so I guess in a way it made me
feel connected to the university. I was in the Taiwanese Student Association and also
Beta Alpha Psi, which is the accounting fraternity
Do you think that we judge older based more on age or appearance?
I think most people judge older based more on appearance than age because when
you look at someone, you dont think oh youre whatever years old. Rather, you look
at how they dress or carry themselves and go from there
